Man charged in Schenectady copper theft

A Schenectady man caused an estimated $500 in damage last October to steal $16 worth of piping, authorities allege. Douglas Kaminski, 53, of 417 Union St., was charged Thursday with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, felonies, along with petty larceny and stolen property possession, misdemeanors. He is accused of breaking into a building on Broadway, near Hamilton Street, sometime during the night of Oct. 25 and cutting out about 12 feet of copper piping ...
