Man accused of graffiting Schenectady vestibule
SCHENECTADY An Amsterdam man faces graffiti and weapons charges after police allegedly found him spray painting graffiti in a vestibule early Saturday, authorities said.
Donald J. Bertrand, 45, is accused of spray painting over older graffiti at a Liberty Street address just after 2 a.m. Saturday in order to leave his own, according to papers filed in court.
Police soon stopped him at the corner of Erie Boulevard and State Street. They allegedly found him with two cans of spray paint in his car and an illegal spring-assisted knife.
Bertrand faces one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. He also faces one count each of fourth- degree criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments, misdemeanors.
