Moreau man accused of strangulation, assault

— A Moreau man was charged with a felony count of strangulation after assaulting a woman and holding her against her will, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Police, who responded to a call for a domestic incident, charged Justin P. Rodriguez, 32, of 249 Old Saratoga Road, with second-degree strangulation, a felony, third-degree assault second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.

Police said a search of the premises turned up a shotgun, a rifle, marijuana and ammunition.

Rodriguez was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and sent to the county jail for lack of $10,000 cash bail. He is to reappear in Moreau Court on Thursday.
