Ex-Schenectady man faces prison for benefits fraud

A former city man faces up to three years in state prison after admitting Friday to illegally taking more than $10,000 in unemployment benefits while he was employed. Matthew D. Laga, 32, now of Hunter, Greene County, pleaded guilty in Schenectady County Court to one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
