Grant to assist court security in Halfmoon
HALFMOON The town of Halfmoon has received a $4,600 state grant to improve court security, Town Supervisor Kevin Tollisen said Thursday.
The money awarded by the Unified Court System will be used to purchase a walk-through and hand-held metal detectors for the Town Justice Court.
“Insuring the safety of our justices, court staff and persons appearing before the court is the highest priority for the town,” Tollisen said.
He said Halfmoon town justices Les Wormuth and Katherine Suchocki, former justice John Cuilla and their staff prepared and submitted the successful grant application.
