Man held in jewelry theft at New Scotland home
NEW SCOTLAND Authorities arrested a Middle Grove man on burglary charges after he allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from an Albany County home he was hired to paint in 2013. He allegedly sold the loot at a Troy pawn shop.
Sean M. Descisciolo, 30, was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny on Tuesday. He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail. Investigators with the Albany County Sheriff's Department were first alerted to the burglary in October 2013, when in excess of $9,000 in jewelry was stolen. During the course of a three-month probe, investigators learned Descisciolo had been at the residence.
