— Police arrested a Greenfield man on a number of felony charges after he allegedly struck a person and then brandished a folding knife during a fracas at the Vanderbilt Terrace apartments Monday.

Richard M. Capone was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal contempt, and first-degree burglary with threatened use of a dangerous instrument, all felonies. He was also cited for misdemeanor counts of menacing, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal trespass, among other violations.

Investigators said Capone, who was previously barred from Saratoga Housing Authority property for an unrelated incident, was at a Vanderbilt Terrace residence around 11:17 p.m. when police responded to a 911 call regarding a possible dispute. An investigation revealed Capone had engaged in a dispute with an occupant of the residence that turned physical when another individual tried to intercede.

Police said Capone struck the other person and then brandished the folding knife. Upon his arrest, investigators found him to possess pills of hydrocodone.

Capone was arraigned in city court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
