Alleged Kingston workplace shooter arraigned, sent to jail
KINGSTON The Schoharie County man charged in a fatal workplace shooting was sent to the Ulster County Jail following arraignment Monday night.
David N. Reese, 53, was charged with second-degree murder and accused of killing co-worker Aron J. Thomas, 33, of Olivebridge, west of Kingston, according to a release from the Kingston Police Department.
Police found Thomas dead Monday morning at 71 Smith Ave. in Kingston, an office for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
Both Reese and Thomas worked in the building staffed by roughly 190 people dedicated to the city's water supply system which includes the Schoharie Reservoir.
Reese was arraigned in Kingston City Court and jailed without bail, according to the Kingston Police Department.
