Duanesburg, Rexford fire departments get grants

More than $530,000 in funding was awarded Monday to fire departments in Rexford and Duanesburg to purchase new equipment, U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced. The money comes through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The Rexford Fire District is to receive just over $150,000 of the money to replace 25 self-contained breathing apparatus and 50 apparatus cylinders, the senators said in a release.
