Schenectady council keeps focus on animal shelter

The dogs at the city’s animal shelter are only fed once a day, Assistant Police Chief John Falvo told the City Council Monday. Council members expressed concern, but Falvo said two sources told him it was OK. And, he said, they don’t need to clean up after the dogs as often if they are only fed once a day. I feed my dog once a day. She gets treats. She gets exercise and does not gain or lost weight at all. Which is healthy for a grown dog. And true - most of the people we are taking about whose dogs end up there could care less.

We have been feeding our two healthy dogs once a day for years, there is nothing wrong with that practice.

What is city's liability if a volunteer is 'hit by a truck', or, otherwise injured by an animal? Here's another example of TYPE A LADY'S shortsighted selfishness leaving constituents in the lurch. We deserve much better leadership.

Who the heck DOES feed their dog more than once a day? I never did when I owned a dog. Good grief aren't there more important things to take care of in this City?

When did animals become more important than the humans living here?
