The Staten Island Yankees scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the first inning, and they prevented a three-game sweep by the Tri-City ValleyCats with a 6-3 New York-Penn League victory on Sunday. Collin Slaybaugh opened the first with a double off of ’Cats starter Luis Ordosgoitti (2-5). Ordosgoitti retired the next two batters, but Ty McFarland doubled home Slaybaugh.
