Schenectady man accused of squeezing woman's throat, violating order of protection
SCHENECTADY A Schenectady man squeezed a woman’s throat and violated an order of protection in the process Sunday, authorities said.
Jonathan M. Monforte, 19, of 1324 Eighth Ave., faces one count of first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and multiple misdemeanors.
He is accused of placing his hands around the woman’s neck and applying pressure Sunday afternoon, violating an order of protection, according to papers filed in court. He also is accused of fleeing officers investigating the incident, resulting in a brief foot chase. Police caught up to him and found more than 25 grams of marijuana, according to papers.
He faces misdemeanor counts of obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of marijuana.
