Schenectady man accused of unemployment benefits fraud

A Schenectady man illegally collected more than $3,000 in unemployment benefits he wasn’t entitled to, authorities said. Alvin Bryant, 61, of Congress Street faces one count each of third-degree grand larceny, first-degree falsifying business records and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, felonies. Bryant is accused of taking $3,398 in unemployment benefits from October 2011 to March 2012 while he was employed, according to papers filed in court.
