The Daily Gazette won five awards, including three first-place nods, for journalistic excellence in the New York State Associated Press Association contest for 2013. Awards highlighted the work of columnists, editors, photographers and reporters. The Gazette competed in the category of newspapers with a circulation between 15,000 and 45,000. First-place honors in the spot news category went to photographer Peter Barber for a photograph of an SUV that drove into a TrustCo Bank in Rotterdam. ...
