Softball: Patterson's RBI triple saves Mohon

Maria Patterson brought home Aubrie Marx with a triple in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday as Mohonasen overhauled Saratoga Springs, 2-1, in one of two Suburban Council nail-biters.

Patterson also had a double and single and limited the Blue Streaks to four hits, while Alyssa Sanborn and Natalie Mercano added two singles apiece.

Mercano’s RBI single in the seventh tied the game at 1-1.

Jackie O’Brien had two singles and scored one of Niskayuna’s two first-inning runs in the Silver Warriors’ 2-1 win over Mohonasen.

Jordan Drezlo had a double and single for the Mighty Warriors, and Patterson had a pair of singles.

Torie Rathwell hurled a one-hitter and went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to carry Guilderland past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 9-0.

Eileen Seery went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Doris Kane went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Lady Dutch.

Emily Loudis knocked in four runs with a homer and a double, and Marisa Sholtes had a homer, single and two RBI as Colonie and Laura Graves pinned down Shaker, 14-2.

Courtney Schlosser broke up Graves’ shutout bid with a two-run single in the sixth.

Carrie Maniccia hit an RBI single and scored on Emma Downing’s sixth-inning fielder’s choice as Bethlehem edged Niskayuna, 2-0.

Downing and her pitching counterpart, Emily Thompson, hurled two-hitters.

Kelly Barkevich hit a two-run single, and Nicole McCarville and Erin McCarvill both had two singles in Shenendehowa’s 8-7 win over Columbia.

Samara Parry sparked Columbia with two doubles, and Maddie Burns had a double and single.

Zoe Purvis rapped out two doubles and two singles, Ali Stuart and Grace Purvis both had two RBI, and Scotia-Glenville (3-0, 4-0) remained unbeaten with a 9-1 Foothills Council triumph at Queensbury.

Celyna Show homered for the Spartans.

Felicia Snyder and Jessi Freebern homered, Emily Zawisa picked up five hits and Sabrina Williams drove in four runs as Galway beat Mekeel Christian Academy, 35-10, in the Western Athletic Conference.

Victoria Alteri hit a two-run single for the Lions, and Lexie Rychcik and Elaina Taplin both had a pair of singles.

Liza Orsini had two doubles and four RBI as part of Saratoga Central Catholic’s 17-1 WAC win over Sharon Springs.
