Schenectady man allegedly choked woman

A city man was arrested this week on allegations he choked a woman to the point of unconsciousness last fall, authorities said. Mangal L. Singh, 37, of Manchester Road, faces one count of second-degree strangulation, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Singh is accused of choking his ex-girlfriend Oct. 13 at his residence, according to papers filed in court. He is also accused of punching her and slamming her to the floor.
