— Mat Bodie is headed to the New York Rangers.

Brian Bartlett, who is Bodie's agent, told ESPN New York on Tuesday that Bodie agreed to a contract. A team official confirmed the news.

Bodie, the Dutchmen's team captain, had eight goals and 31 assists this season. He scored a goal in each of the four NCAA tournament games Union played in, culminating with the NCAA title Saturday over Minnesota.

Bodie, who was a first-team All-America, is Union's all-time leading scorer among defensemen with 124 points.

He won't join the Rangers until the summer development camp.
