Lacrosse: Stafford, Beardsley spark BH-BL win

Taylor Stafford found the net four times, and Nicole Beardsley contributed three goals and four assists to lead Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to an 11-8 win over Rye in a girls’ non-league lacrosse match Monday.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Spartans, who improved to 5-1. Beardsley upped her goal total to 20, while Stafford has 15.

Bethlehem topped Averill Park, 21-9, in a Suburban Council match behind five goals and two assists from Emma Conway and four goals from Emma Cremo.

Sofie Sorriento tallied three times for Averill Park.

Katie Kerner, Jordyn Marr, Meghan Pendergast and Madison Shea each collected three goals in Shenendehowa’s 21-9 win over Colonie.

Briela Tollisen tallied three times for the Garnet Raiders.

In the Foothills Council, Alison Butler and Katie Zilka each fired in three goals to push Queensbury over Greenwich, 20-3.

Katie Buher, Madison Butler, Alexis Gordon, Natasha Rahal and Christie Raymond added two goals apiece for the Spartans.

In a boys’ non-league match, Jon Magaletti and Anthony Yevolli notched three goals each in Amsterdam’s 10-0 win over Utica Proctor.

Christian Brothers Academy edged St. John the Baptist, 10-8.
