Schenectady man faces burglary count

A city man allegedly broke into an apartment on Eastern Avenue and set a small fire, authorities said. Patrick J. Hopkins, 32, of Eastern Avenue, faces one count each of second-degree burglary, a felony, and fifth-degree arson, a misdemeanor. Hopkins is accused of breaking into another Eastern Avenue apartment at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and setting fire to a board game and a chair, according to papers filed in court.
