— A Richmondville woman admitted this week to embezzling thousands of dollars from a local Realtor, Schoharie County district attorney’s officials said.

Kelly Garreau, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree grand larceny, a felony. She faces a maximum sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison at her sentencing later this year.

Garreau was indicted last summer on charges she embezzled nearly $400,000 from Realtor Alton Makely. She was accused of doing so from February 2006 to March 2013.

The case was investigated by the Cobleskill Police Department with assistance from the state police and Schoharie County District Attorney’s Office.
