Canajoharie man pleads guilty of armed bank robbery
ALBANY A Canajoharie man faces up to 25 years in state prison after pleading guilty to robbing a bank in Slingerlands, District Attorney P. David Soares announced Thursday.
Victor Shear, 45, is accused of entered a bank on New Scotland Road in Slingerlands Aug. 21, 2013, and demanding money while brandishing a gun. After taking the money from a teller, he fled the bank.
Shear was arrested in South Carolina by members of the North Myrtle Beach Police Department and waived extradition back to New York State.
He pleaded guilty to first degree robbery and remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail to await sentencing.
