Schenectady County Legislature backs health insurance savings act

The Schenectady County Legislature voted Tuesday to encourage the passage of the Municipal Health Insurance Savings Act. Introduced by Assemblyman Phil Steck, D-Colonie, the bill would allow towns, villages and school districts to join county self-insured health plans as a way to drive down costs.
