High schools: D'Amario scores six, sparks Nisky

Mike D’Amario scored six times and assisted on a goal to lift the Niskayuna boys over Shaker, 14-3, in a Suburban Council lacrosse game Tuesday pitting last season’s division champions.

Ryan Lawson had three goals and two assists for the Silver Warriors (3-0), who raced to a 10-1 halftime lead.

Coltin Moseman scored four goals and set up four, and Chris Stedry had four goals and five points in Ballston Spa’s 15-9 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Jon Fitzgerald paced Burnt Hills with two goals and four assists, and Austin Clark notched three goals.

Kyle Marr had his second six-assist outing this spring and added three goals as part of Shenendehowa’s 14-6 victory over Saratoga Springs.

Jeff Yates had three goals and three assists, Liam Dollard had a hat trick, and Khyan Gatty came through with a goal and four assists as Colonie edged Guilderland, 12-10.

Brad Johnston sparked the Dutchmen with five goals and an assist.

Don Vivian collected five goals and three assists, and Christian Brothers Academy pulled away in the second half to beat Vermont’s Mount Anthony, 14-6, in a non-league game.

Ryan O’Hagan and Jack Ladd both had three goals and an assist for the Brothers.

Spartans win

Nicole Beardsley had her third career 10-point game with four goals and six assists, and Lexie Ball made six saves as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake blanked Ballston Spa, 19-0, in a Suburban Council game.

Christina Krowel piled up six goals and two assists for the Spartans.

Sarah Cheney and Julia Lennon both fired in six goals to propel Shaker past Niskayuna, 18-10.

Marissa DiVietro scored three goals for the Silver Warriors.

Madison Shea’s goal in the second overtime gave Shenendehowa a 13-12 win over Saratoga Springs.

Rachel Picchi topped Shenendehowa with four goals.

Klock leads OESJ

Dylan Klock pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and scored two runs as Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville opened its season with a 3-0 Western Athletic Conference win at Duanesburg.

Klock had all three of the Wolves’ hits including two doubles, and Nick D’Antonio had an RBI fielder’s choice.

Jake Mabb gave up two unearned runs in the first and hurled shutout ball the rest of the way, and Cody White went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Ichabod Crane’s 12-2 Colonial Council win at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.

John Wheeler had a double, single and two RBI for the Riders, and Nick Ferrari had a double, single and three runs scored. Kyle Pentak had two hits for the Indians.

Brennan McCormack, Mike Bucca and Matt Bloise hit two-run doubles, and Shenendehowa opened its season with a 22-1 non-league win over Troy.

McCormack had four hits and three RBI. Justin Yurchak had a double, single and two RBI.

Sophomore Ashlyn Kersch threw a no-hitter and struck out 17 as Ballston Spa beat Albany, 4-0, in a non-league game.

Taylor McMahon went 3-for-4, and had an RBI double in a two-run seventh inning.

Taylor Daniels hit a double, triple and home run, and drove in four runs, as Watervliet beat Berlin, 18-0, in a non-leaguer.

Beth Jones also homered for Watervliet.

Bailey Wood went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in as Middleburgh knocked off Sharon Springs, 18-1, in a Western Athletic Conference game.
