— Goalie Carsen Chubak made 50 saves, and Jason Akeson had a hat trick to lead the Adirondack Phantoms to a 4-3 AHL victory over the Albany Devils on Sunday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

It was the final meeting between the Northway rivals. The Phantoms are moving to Allentown, Pa., next season. The Devils won the series, 23-17-4-2.

But the Phantoms, long since eliminated from Calder Cup playoff contention, kept the Devils from enhancing their Eastern Conference playoff positioning. Albany is in seventh with 83 points. Hershey occupies the final spot with 82, and ninth-place Norfolk has 81.

Akeson scored twice in the first period, including one short-handed. Rod Pelley had a goal for Albany in the first.

Petr Straka scored on the power play at 6:30 of the second period to make it 3-1.

Reece Scarlett got that one back for the Devils 3:12 later on the power play. But Akeson complete his hat trick on a power-play goal with 4:43 left in the second.

The Devils cut it to one on Scott Timmins’ power-play tally with 7:19 left in the third.
