Schenectady police: Protection order violated

A city man violated an order of protection Saturday by choking a woman, authorities said. Raymond A. Vanburen, Jr., 26, of 1760 Van Vranken Ave., was charged Saturday with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.
