Sheriff: Albany County inmate dies after ingesting cocaine

Investigators believe a man a Troy who died in the Albany County Jail’s special housing facility Wednesday ingested a lethal dose of cocaine he may have smuggled into the facility upon his arrest on a parole violation last month. Sheriff Craig Apple said an autopsy determined Michael Williams, 29, of Corliss Avenue, died of cardiac arrest brought on by ingesting cocaine.
