— Law enforcement and fire departments are attempting to defuse a possible suicide situation in the town of Carlisle.

It's still early in the process, but so far Schoharie County Sheriff Tony Desomond said it appears a local woman filled her home, which sits along Route 20 in the town with gasoline. At noon, Desomond said she was in the basement, threatening to light a match.

"It's a mess," he said.

Fire departments from Esperance, Carlisle, Central Bridge and Sharon Springs are all on the scene, trying to resolve the situation.
