Man injured in reported gang assault

A Schenectady police detective broke up an alleged gang assault this afternoon at the corner of Hulett and State streets. Detective Lt. Eric Clifford, who was driving in a patrol car,, came upon the attack about 3 p.m., police spokesman Lt. Mark McCracken said. As Clifford stopped, the attackers ran off and remain at large. That corner is NASTY. It is filthy dirty and there are always younger men standing around doing - what?? The police should try to drive by there constantly. I don't even like driving past there.

Bad new is, that isn't the only scary corner in the city...we have lots of them.
Two of the worst that come instantly to mind, 6th ave. and Crane street. That corner is just chock full of unsavory characters just hanging around in large groups doing nothing constructive. The other, the store front adjacent to Van Vranken at Mason Street...same story, different thugs.
I'm also sure readers can name many more locations that would benefit from a little Police harassment...in the name of Public Safety, of course.
