Grant to help Niskayuna group target teen alcohol, drug use

Fighting youth substance abuse in Niskayuna will be the focus of a new $625,000 federal grant awarded this week to the Niskayuna Community Action Program. The grant, which is to come in the form of an annual $125,000 award over the next five years, will focus on youth alcohol, marijuana and prescription drug abuse. So 625K to recanvas, and educate the most highly educated demographic in the county. No hint of intervention, or, crisis services. Who knew who on the RFP review team. This reads like an over funded enabling system. It is enabling the county's most affluent demographic to keep kicking the denial can down 146 for five more years.
