— Downtown Ballston Spa reeks of natural gas this afternoon after village employees hit a gas line on Low Street around 1 p.m.

According to Ballston Spa Fire Department Assistant Chief Bill Lewis, village employees were doing work on the street, nearby the new location of Augie's Restaurant at 17 Low St., when a gas line ruptured. Firefighters arrived on the scene and blocked pedestrians from traveling on Low Street and kept cars off a portion of Front Street.

At least one crew from National Grid was on the scene around 1:30 p.m.
