2 men trimming tree injured when power line arcs
GLENVILLE Two tree-trimmers who were badly injured in an accident Friday have been released from the hospital.
Two workers for D&L Tree Service in Schenectady were trimming limbs from a bucket truck Friday when they moved too close to an overhead power line, police said.
Detective Michael Lamb said the accident nearly killed the men.
Electricity arced from the line to them, throwing both of them from the bucket.
One man was reported dead on the scene, but emergency workers revived him with CPR. The other man had a burn on his hand.
Both men were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, and one of them was then transferred to the burn unit at Westchester Medical Center. Both men were discharged Monday, Lamb said.
