— A 73-year-old Queensbury man was arrested on a misdemeanor menacing charge after he allegedly pointed a handgun during a dispute over loud music at a local ski center, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department said.

David R. Hubert of West River Road was arrested around 5:15 p.m. Friday at the West Mountain Ski Center, where the annual Freedom of Expression Music and Arts Festival was taking place.

Deputies said they responded to a report of a man threatening festival employees, and found several people talking to a man in a vehicle, which had a handgun on the passenger-side floor and a holster on the seat.

Witnesses told deputies Hubert went to the ski center to complain about the volume of music, which he said violated an agreement with the town. He allegedly pointed a gun at one employee before putting it down.

After the arrest, deputies seized Hubert’s pistol permit as well as 18 firearms that they said will be held until the case is resolved in court. Hubert is free without bail pending a Town Court appearance.
