With absentee ballots counted, incumbent mayor retains slim lead

King remains the victor of the Sept. 10 election contest, however, winning by a total of 13 votes.
Tallies won’t be made official until late this week or early next week and counting continues, according to the Board of Elections.
King held a 63-vote lead over Ponticello at the end of voting last Tuesday but Ponticello picked up 73 more votes through absentee ballots. Absentee ballots added 23 votes to King’s primary night total of 458 for a total of 458 votes to Ponticello’s 445.
