Police rescue fisherman from Sharon swamp
SHARON Rescuers were able to get a Fulton County man out of a swamp Sunday after he got stuck while fishing.
The 45-year-old Gloversville resident was fishing with family members when he got stuck in the wetland near Engleville Pond in the town of Sharon at about 1:15 p.m., according to a release from the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department.
Members of the Sharon Springs Fire Department and Rescue Squad found the man roughly 50 yards from the road. Medical technicians found no injuries after the man was rescued and he was released from the scene.
