Woman in canoe rescued from Schoharie Creek

Firefighters rescued a canoeist caught in rapids on the Schoharie Creek following a brief search Sunday night, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities were called just after 9 p.m. and told Alison McMahon, 52, left at 6 p.m. to paddle from Esperance to Burtonsville but did not return.
