HUDSON FALLS — Authorities say a New York man is in a hospital burn unit after he barricaded himself inside his upstate home before setting it on fire.

Neighbors tell the Glens Falls Post-Star that police went to Robert Fenton's home in the Washington County village of Hudson Falls shortly after midnight Monday for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Fenton barricaded himself inside and police negotiated for several hours before he set a fire inside the home around 3 a.m. Police rushed in and captured Fenton as he tried to run out the back door. Firefighters quickly doused the flames.

Fenton was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of burns to his arms and torso. His injuries aren't considered life-threatening.

Police say more details will be released later Tuesday.
