Free police, go after parents, to stop Sch’dy school violence

Text Size: A | A

Free police, go after parents, to stop Sch’dy school violence It was with great disgust that I read the Oct. 11 Gazette account of the recent behavior by some students, and their parents, at Mont Pleasant Middle School. The fact that 12- to 14-year-olds feel brazen enough to disregard commands from both teachers and supervisory personnel is bad enough. But the fact that the principal was assaulted and the on-site police were surrounded and threatened ...

Don, lets be clear about a few of your "points". First there was no bi-partisan compromise. There was only the surrender of enough worms in the Republican Party to allow the Democrats to get what they wanted. Democrats never compromise. Ever. Second, virtually every poll out there says the majority, I'll repeat that for you, majority, do not want this. In addition the costs have been ramped up and will climb to the point that Democrats will once again attack the American people to confiscate more of their hard earned money. We don't need years to gather data. We have historical data from all programs initiated by liberals and run by Washington bureaucrats. When your party actually follows through on a promised reduction, savings, or cost cutting measure it will be a first. Mr Cruiz hasn't argued about "concern" for health care, he's argued that this plan is bad for America (Republicans have offered alternative solutions, but you dont like those. Somehow we're evil for hating yours but you're not for hating ours). People are losing their coverage, work hours and jobs, all so you can increase your voter rolls through dependency. If you cared about health care you would have worked with Republicans. This is all about votes. Period. Soon to be expanded to illegals. Pretend all you want. Those that actually pay attention know what this is about, what it will cost and what it will do to America.

Don
The very basis of the Affordable Care Act is flawed. It openly states that it relies on the young to buy coverage in mass to pay the main share. They didn't buy it before, they WILL NOT buy it at higher prices. But the Democrats have a solution for that, keep raising their taxes until they have nothing or they give in. Our government right now rewards failure and punishes those who succeed. Generation after generation has wanted better for the next one than they had, until now.

Don, the original cost of Obamacare has more than doubled and it has not even started yet. Dozens of major companies have cut full time positions on hundreds of thousands of people to part time positions, all due to Obamacare. If the government can not get a website up and running with years of notice how are they going to run the healthcare part of it? What about the 30,000 new IRS agents tracking down your 20 year old kids because they did not sign up for government insurance? Are you people so blind you can't see what this is? Just get in the railroad car, we are going to take you somewhere nice.

Mr Higgins-Schenectady has already imploded thanks to 37 straight years of Democratic machine "leadership". The only hope is for County/State solutions to the fiscal mess created by one party fiscal incompetents. New County leadership and consolidation are the only way out. We have had enough of County lifers with no ideas running again and again. Stop looking for the City to do anything except squeezing every nickle out of fewer and fewer taxpayers.

Gina, you and I usually agree but this time I'm with Mr. Higgins, if we clean up the crime the city will draw more taxpayers and will hopefully reduce our taxes or at least keep them from increasing. Joe Lazarri has the right idea, he wants to follow the Gulliani plan that the Mayor used in NYC, fix the little things, crime, litter, quality of life and the bigger things wil fix themselves.

Mr Higgins, your absolutely right! The problem is we have a liberal school superintendent who thinks you can fix everything by being buddies with the kids creating these issues and he is completely against police in the schools. Perhaps he should relocate his office to mt pleasant and maybe take a shot in the puss by one of these kids to wake him up. The other issue is everyone now is for zero tolerance but the police know all too well that as soon as they have to get physical with a student or parent, all these supporters quickly disappear and the gazette begins their cop bashing games.
