High schools: Schalmont girls finish 16-0 in Colonial
Julia Rosi scored two goals, and the Schalmont girls’ soccer team completed a perfect run through the Colonial Council with a 6-0 win over Watervliet Saturday.
Bianca Mascitelli had a goal and an assist, and Madeline Saccocio had two assists for the 16-0 Sabres. Taylor Gould, Sophia Greco and Alexis Ryder each added a goal.
Brittany Pulliam, Emma Oliver, Mackenzie Lozano and Emily Center supplied the goals, and Guilderland completed a 15-1 Suburban Council campaign with a 4-1 victory over Mohonasen.
Lauren Kogelmann picked up two assists for the Lady Dutch. Sarah Kress scored for Mohonasen (2-13-1).
Jenna Retell scored on a header off a pass from Morgan Burchhardt in the ninth minute, and the same combination connected for another header in the second half to give Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake a 2-0 win over Niskayuna.
Erin Petrillose made 12 saves for the Spartans (8-7-1), and Kristin Hartlage had 12 saves for the Silver Warriors.
Lindsay McCarty scored two goals, and Becca Dean made eight saves as Mekeel Christian Academy (9-3-1) posted a 2-0 Western Athletic Conference win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
Delany Martin scored for the Bulldogs.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Colonie won the large school division of the inaugural Brown Cross Country Invitational with 60 points.
Bellame Bower led the Garnet Raiders with a 5k time of 18:43 to finish fifth overall. Amanda Chambers (sixth, 18:48) and Catrherine Tenney (ninth, 18:59) also finished in the top 10 individually.
