Three homes burglarized in Schenectady's North Side
SCHENECTADY Three occupied homes were burglarized Wednesday night, police said.
The homes were in the same area as the last string of occupied-home burglaries this summer, between Wendell Avenue and the Stockade. The burglaries have occurred in the North Side neighborhood.
In the cases Wednesday night and the cases from this summer, burglars got into the houses by climbing in through a window. The windows were not locked, so they only had to remove a screen to get in, police said.
They urged residents to lock all of their windows and doors to prevent break-ins.
Evidence technicians processed each scene and the detectives are investigating. Police do not have descriptions of the burglars, but are canvassing the neighborhood and studying surveillance camera footage, they said.
Anyone with any information regarding the incidents is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department’s TIPS line at 788-6566.
