Woman charged following accidental fire in Gloversville

A Fulton County woman is being accused of accidentally starting a fire which authorities allege put the lives of six people at risk. Mary Beth Bates, 29, of Dennie Road, Mayfield, was charged this morning with six counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to a news release from the Gloversville Police Department. So she was drunk in her own home and "accidentally" started a fire and was charged? If it was an accident how can you be charged?

Accidentally means unintentionally. Like if she was drunk and ran over someone, she could be charged for running someone over.
