— Town police are investgating a serious car accident Friday evening that sent two people to Albany Medical Center.

The accident occurred at the intersection of routes 5 and 103 about 4.20 p.m., according to the Gazette's newsgathering partner, WRGB.

A 2005 Dodge driven by Crystal Dillenbeck, 30, of Palatine Bridge, made a left turn from Route 5 onto Route 103, into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Gina Clark, 29, of Rotterdam. The Tahoe struck the passenger side of the Dodge and pushed it into a guard rail.

First responders had to use the jaws of life to extricate Dillenbeck. She was flown to Albany Medical Center with a serious head injury, while Clark was taken there by ambulance with arm, wrist and leg fractures.

Police said Dillenbeck failed to yield the right of way, but no tickets have been issued as an investigation continues.

Isn't this the same intersection where an accident killed a guy two months ago? http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2013/au...

I don't understand it. The intersection is wide open, no visual obstructions at all, and has traffic lights.

Yes, it is. It all comes down to people - they don't pay attention or they think that they can do the impossible.
