— A panel of experts will converge on the Saratoga Springs City Center on Sunday, covering such topics as health care options, retirement planning and real estate to share critical knowledge with people ages 50 and older.

Seminars on important subjects will make up just part of The Gazette’s 50-Plus Boomers Expo, taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music and other entertainment are also planned, and somebody will go home with a new flat-screen television.

The Gazette is presenting the event in partnership with News 10 ABC. MVP Healthcare is the presenting sponsor, and cosponsors are AARP, Albany Medical Center, Baptist Health, CDPHP, Fidelis Care and Retirement Planning Group LLC.

It is expected to be the largest expo in the state this year for people 50 and older, and the agenda includes another important part of any function: food.

Food tastings during the function will be provided by ShopRite and DZ Restaurants. An “Iron Chef Throwdown” will be held at ShopRite’s Cooking Stage starting at 2:30 p.m.

Elvis tribute artist Donny Romines is scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. performance. Other entertainment will be ongoing during the event. A strolling magician will perform throughout the City Center, as will the Primrose Lane Barbershop Quartet and the Electric City Chorus, and guests will find an artist on the scene sketching caricatures.

Dozens of service providers and vendors will fill up more than 100 booths on the site, while experts on a variety of topics plan to answer often-asked questions.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Mulligan will discuss carpal tunnel syndrome and what’s done to correct it, while MVP medical advisor Kimberly Weaver discusses the “ABC & Ds of Medicare.”

Estate planning will be the focus for Richard D. Cirincione, chairman of the elder law department at the law firm of McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams PC, while Scott Averill, vice president of marketing for Fidelis, will delve into the details of the Affordable Care Act.

MVP Community Health Educator Cori Rowe is planning to discuss simple techniques to improve one’s memory, and Brian Brosen of Realty USA will explore today’s real estate market and what it means for those looking to downsize and sell their bigger properties.
