Girls’ soccer: Suriano nets OT winner
Samantha Suriano scored the overtime winner on a Nyla Cortes corner kick to give Schenectady a 1-0 non-league win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo. Nikki DiGregorio made 13 saves for the shutout. BKW got six saves from Monique Britton.
In another non-league matchup, Hoosick Falls (8-1-0) got a pair of goals from both Jordyn Haynes and Rachel Pine in a 4-1 win over Mount Anthony (Vt.).
Amsterdam’s Monica Rouse scored the lone goal in a 1-0 non-league win over Northville. The Rams got five saves from Cassy Robataille. Taylor Fancher made 10 saves for Northville (4-6-0).
Schoharie got three goals from Seana Cleveland and two from McKenzie Phelan in an 8-2 Western Athletic Conference win over Galway. Caroline Krohn had a goal and four assists, and Sydney Stanley made five saves for Schoharie (6-0-0 WAC, 9-0-1 overall).
Galway’s goals came from Erica Chase and Felicia Snyder, Chase adding an assist, and Lindsay Naughton had 23 saves for the Golden Eagles (3-4-0 WAC).
Canajoharie (6-1-0 WAC) topped Mekeel Christian Academy, 5-1, with three goals from Jordyn Logan, and a goal apiece from Hannah Bowerman and Brianna Slater. The Lions (3-2-1 WAC) got a goal from Macie Holmes and 23 saves from Rebekkah Dean.
Megan Wilkes scored three goals for Duanesburg (5-3-1 WAC) in a 6-1 win over Sharon Springs. Maeve McKeeby had two goals and two assists.
Savanna Olsen scored for Sharon Springs (1-5-0 WAC), and Kara VanArsdal made five saves.
Middleburgh’s Amanda Roney scored three goals, and Taylor Cater had two in a 6-1 win over Mayfield. Carley Ryan added three assists for Middleburgh (4-2-0 WAC), and Mayfield (0-7-0 WAC) got a goal from Alyssa Davis.
