Albany convention center plans scaled back

The proposal for a convention center in Albany has been downsized into a much smaller project, board members said Monday. The project, near the Times Union Center and Empire State Plaza, was originally to be 220,000 square feet. We need an Albany Convention Center Authority why? Again!

And, the trade group sez: "Where shall we go this year, Vegas or Albany?"

OTOH, Erie Blvd from the Grog Shoppe, north to Freeman's Bridge including the Alco site could be the new "Strip", if we can get the casinos that Saratoga turns down. No need to import down'n'outers or lowlifes from Atlantic City as those jobs are already filled, and the quality of the hookers would go up.
