NEW HAVEN, Conn. A former Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake student attending the University of New Haven in Connecticut stands accused of stabbing his roommate, media in Connecticut are reporting.
An article posted Saturday on the New Haven Register Web site said police were called to a University of New Haven dormitory in the small hours of Saturday morning after Ketryk Wilder, 20, allegedly stabbed his roommate during an argument.
Wilder, of Ballston, is charged with first-degree assault and is detained on bail, according to a report by The Associated Press.
The victim, who has not been named, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he is listed in serious condition with a partially punctured lung and stab wounds to his leg, abdomen and chest.
College spokeswoman Karen Grava would not comment to The Gazette on Sunday and the West Haven Police Department could not be reached for comment or details.
The Hartford Courant reports Wilder attended Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.
Previous Gazette stories list Wilder as a member of the school’s volleyball team.
Wilder is expected to be arraigned Monday in Milford Superior Court.
