Niskayuna may take tuition students

The Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education may allow students from outside the district to pay tuition to attend school in Niskayuna as a way to bring in extra revenue. I don't like the idea. If you have a 2 million deficit more time should be spent on saving $500,000 here or $500,000 there. I know someone that just withdrew their kid from Niskayuna because of a large class size. They supposedly had an unanticipated enrollment jump with district transfers. Ever dollar counts but... I don't like this idea. Time better spent focusing elsewhere.

A great idea and something that Niskayuna used to do. With no County Charter School option this is vital to many City parents stuck in a failing, dangerous school system.

If we had school choice then we could send our kids to the best schools around. The problem is the teachers union always stops it by buying off the politicians with campaign funds. School Choice....
