NEW YORK — New York City police say four men are being held after a 24-year-old says he was punched in the face.

Police are investigating whether it was a game called "knockout." The object is to knock out an unsuspecting person with one punch. The man says he overheard the four talking about the game.

Police say the 24-year-old told them he was walking in Brooklyn around 2:45 a.m. Friday when he was struck once. He was not seriously injured.

The victim identified the suspects to police nearby.

They range in age from 28 to 38. Police say the hate crimes task force is investigating because the victim is Jewish. There have been seven other incidents recently that may fit the pattern of the game. No other arrests have been made.
