PROVINCETOWN, Mass. — A preliminary investigation has revealed that the death of the Rexford woman swept out to sea Sunday in Cape Cod was accidental, according to Cape and Islands First Assistant District Attorney Michael Trudeau.
Donna Pawlowski, 51, was in Cape Cod for a five-day vacation with her wife, Barbara, according to Pawlowski’s mother, Dorothy Pawlowski.
The women were reportedly walking along Race Point Beach early Sunday morning. Authorities believe Pawlowski was hit by a wave and pulled into the ocean while trying to find her wife's glasses, which had fallen into the water.
Her body washed ashore a short time later.
Pawlowski worked for General Electric’s Corporate Global Learning team based on Balltown Road in Niskayuna.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
