School football: Taylor, Patriots tame Tigers

— Andre Taylor ran for three touchdowns, and Broadalbin-Perth erupted for 27 second-quarter points en route to a 41-32 victory over Cohoes in a Section II Class B semifinal football game Saturday afternoon.

The 8-1 Patriots will meet

defending champion Schalmont in the championship game Saturday at 3 p.m. at Shenendehowa High School’s Brent Steuerwald Stadium.

Luigi Magliocca, Darius Reyes and Mike Visco also scored rushing touchdowns for Broadalbin-Perth.

Shelton Alston ran for three touchdowns, and Brandon LaForest caught a pair of scoring strikes from Max Carey for the 6-3 Tigers.

QUEENSBURY — Brett Rod-riguez broke free for three touchdowns, and Kalen Minott added two more as unbeaten Queensbury (9-0) earned a shot at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in the championship game this weekend.

Queensbury broke the game open with 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Amsterdam (5-4) was led by Bryan Stanavich with two long scoring runs.

STILLWATER — Mike Matatt ran for 125 yards and scored twice to propel the unbeaten Panthers over the Braves and into the Class C Super Bowl next week.

Quarterback Garrett Wright completed 14 of 24 passes for 220 yards and two scoring strikes, one to Austin Pitt and the other to Brandon Hodges.

Damon Dubois kicked a 40-yard

field goal, and Peter Muratori

returned an interception 55 yards for another Hoosick Fall score.

The Panthers are 49-0 against Section II opponents over the last five years.

Chatham (9-0) advances to the Class C Super Bowl. Austin Knapp ran for a score and a conversion. James Roach also ran for a touchdown.

Corinth (6-3) drew even at 6-6 in the first quarter when Chance Baudoux threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Alex Jenkins.

SCHUYLERVILLE — Cambridge got past the Generals with help from Caleb Rowland’s four touchdowns and 228 yards on the ground.

Rowland scored on runs of six, four, six and 23 yards. Chris Warnke scored twice, while Ethan English (TD pass) and David Reedy also registered touchdowns for the

Indians.

Isaac Isom scored all four touchdowns, including a 68-yard kickoff return, for the Generals.

Anthony Wayiso scored on a pair of runs and a conversion in the second half to help the Indians pull away. Jimmy Burnell scored a touchdown on the ground and ran for three conversions.

Schoburg got a 65-yard punt

return for a touchdown from Connor Brown, and Drew Rice hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Mattice.

Both teams finished up 2-7.
