— Authorities arrested three Schenectady women on prostitution charges after conducting a sweep Thursday evening.

Pamela Crippen, 50, Adika Cummings, 31, and Ashley Hoemyer, 23, were all charged with misdemeanor counts of prostitution. All three were arraigned this morning in City Court.

Schenectady police Spokesman Mark McCracken said the sweep is the first of many planned during the spring and summer. He said the sweeps will target both prostitutes and their customers.

Thursday's sweep was conducted by members of the department’s special investigations unit and patrol units, with assistance from state police.
